Federico II, the great svevo emperor, who chooses the Puglia
as native land, defined the province of the chief town of the region
under the denomination "Barium Land". A land that for centuries
has expressed strong values in the arts thanks to architects who
shaped the white stones of the Romanesque cathedral or to the Frederic
the Great' s powerful castles.
The Barium Land is characterised by the road of the oil "Land of olive trees" that includes eight cities of the oil and authentic masterpieces of the Romanesque style. It is an architectonic style that since 1000 impresses its brand with muslim and byzantine signs.
The land starts from Giovinazzo, by the sea, and arrive to Santeramo in Colle, where people still carve the wood handcraft.
In the middle there is a land of olive trees and vineyards.
The
fruit of this vine, in fact, encircles a wide circle of a lot of
provinces of Bari. On one hand this is a vine that from Noicattaro
and Rutigliano arrives on the table as table grape in different
varieties: Italy, Regina, Vittoria and Red Globe. On the other becomes
wine: man, red and rosč. A wine emphasized by the brand DOC like
"Castel del Monte" or the "Moscato di Trani", and also the Red wine
of Barletta and Canosa, the "Gravina" wine, the "Primitivo"of Gioia
del Colle and the tasteful "Locorotondo". There are four roads of
wine overlapped by different graduatėons of green colour, sometimes
crossing the road of oil.
A land full of Agriturismo ( agrestic old farm renewed, immersed in the nature), appreciated for the local and the traditional kitchen (mixed sometimes with the biological), for the free time offer equipments that included some fields using as runway for ultralight aircrafts.
